Sodium vapor lamps are most commonly used on street lights and industrial lighting fixtures so they one of the prevalent sources light pollution for astrophotography. Purenight reduces the transmission of light from sodium vapor lamps, one most prevalent sources pollution on our planet.

Purenight requires a square filter holder sold separately and the appropriately-sized system adapter ring to fit your SLR lens such as coking z - pro series or lee systems for 100mm filters. Purenight greatly reduces transmission of yellow and orange light in the 575nm to 600nm wave length s, same wave length that is emitted by high pressure sodium vapor lamps. This is a lightly used filter in excellent condition. New this filter cost 289: purenight is a premium glass light pollution reduction designed by lonely Speck made of special neodymium.

This offer is for the 100x100mm size filter. Note: the first photo is a stock picture and shows 85mm square filter. Resulting images will have truer colors and improved contrast when compared to influenced by light pollution. Purenight is precision ground and polished features an anti-reflective multi-coating to greatly reduce the effect of internal reflections ghosting that plague most filters when used at night with bright light sources in image.
